The Yarn Spinners are a group of ladies who have been volunteering on behalf of our Elks Lodge since 2008. They meet on a regular basis and use their knitting and crocheting skills to hand make wearable items that are then donated to various medical facilities in the Bay area.

San Jose Yarn Spinners

The Yarn Spinners are a busy group keeping up the pace by working from home and then meeting every 2 months to package the items they’ve made and then deliver them to hospitals.

In the first four months of 2024, the Yarn Spinners have made 554 items that include baby blankets, hats and layettes and adult shawls, scarves and lap blankets. These items found their way to local hospital Labor & De-livery, Oncology and Spinal Cord Injury departments, local churches and various non-profit organizations.

The San Jose Elks are very proud of the more than 20 very dedicated ladies for their involvement with the Yarn Spinners who do their charity work providing the beautiful and meaningful gifts to those who are receiving medical treatment.

The San Jose Elks Lodge is proud of this group and all the work they do. We recently donated $800 to the Yarn Spinners to help with supply purchases and we look forward to seeing them meeting again in our newly renovated Lodge.
